Accompanying Persons Program

An accompanying persons program has been created to allow partners and family of GA2020 delegates the opportunity to explore Sydney and its surrounds as well as attending the GA2020 social program.

An accompanying persons registrations includes:

  • Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception
  • Sydney City Sights Tour
  • Luna Park ‘Just for Fun’ Party
  • The Greater Blue Mountains Day Trip
  • Closing Ceremony and Gala Dinner

GA2020 Opening Ceremony & Reception

Date: Sunday 4 October 2020
Location: Sydney Opera House

Fusing ancient and modernist influences, and situated on a site sacred to the Gadigal people for thousands of years, the sculptural elegance of the Sydney Opera House has made it one of the symbols of twentieth century architecture. On 28 June 2007, the Sydney Opera House was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the youngest cultural site to ever be included on the World Heritage List.

  

Sydney City Sights Tour

Date: Wednesday 7 October 2020

This four-hour coach tour is a perfect introduction for international visitors, designed to provide an orientation of the city and see some of the city’s key sights. Explore the vibrancy and style of cosmopolitan Sydney, one of the world’s most beautiful harbour cities. Enjoy views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, a waterfront seat carved into the rock for the wife of visionary colonial governor, Lachlan Macquarie. Travel through Sydney’s fashionable eastern suburbs, renowned for their elegant homes and harbour vistas on the way to the historic Vaucluse House where you’ll enjoy a delicious morning tea. After enjoying the stunning grounds of Vaucluse House, journey to the world-famous Bondi Beach – a haven for surfers and sun lovers, before returning to the ICC Sydney.

 

 

 

 

‘Just for Fun’ Party

Luna Park is Sydney’s most iconic amusement park and tourist destination. ‘Experience the Magic’ of one of Sydney top icons and discover the amusement rides and side show games, home to the original ‘Laughing Clowns’!

     

Great Blue Mountains Day Trip

Date: Thursday 8 October 2020
Location: Depart from ICC Sydney

The Greater Blue Mountains was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2000.
The unique plants and animals that live here relate an extraordinary story of the evolution of Australia’s unique eucalypt vegetation and its associated communities of plants and animals. It is an area of breathtaking views, rugged tablelands, sheer cliffs, deep inaccessible valleys and swamps. The Greater Blue Mountains is a place of immense cultural value to the Darug, Darkinjung, Gundungarra, Tharawal, Wonnarua, and Wiradjuri people.

Closing Ceremony and Dinner

The Gadigal people of the Eora nation are the traditional custodians of the land on which the ICC Sydney is located. Located within ICC Sydney is its Grand Ballroom which is one of Sydney’s premium banqueting spaces at a prime waterfront location on Darling Harbour.
